CARTAGENA IS THE FOURTH BEST INDUSTRIAL ZONE IN COLOMBIA

Cartagena de Indias is consolidated as the fourth industrial city in Colombia, with an economic activity boosted by the petrochemical and manufacturing industry, the metalworking sector, agribusiness and construction.

PETROCHEMICAL

Center of the main industrial project in Colombia, the expansion of the Cartagena Refinery. Investment of more than USD 5000 generating more than 8000 jobs. Approximately 75% of Cartagena’s industrial exports belong to the petrochemical sector.
METALMECHANICAL AND SHIPYARDS

Cartagena is the main center for the development of the shipbuilding industry in Colombia, with more than 5 million dollars in exports and 3,000 jobs created. It brings together important companies in the metalworking sector that are also suppliers to the shipbuilding industry.
AGROINDUSTRIAL

The main agricultural products of Bolívar are: Orange, plantain, mango, cacao, yucca, yam, chili, palm, cane, citrus-fruits, pineapple, avocado, sugarcane and timber. The production, transformation and conservation of fish meat corresponds in total to 4% of industrial production.
BUILDING

In 2014, Cartagena consolidated itself as the second city in the country with the largest number of square meters approved for construction with 554,468 m2, behind Bogotá. Investments are destined for the tourism, housing and industrial sectors, with the construction of logistics and industrial parks.
